Your bid is the most you’re willing to pay for a Sponsored booking. This is in addition to the Zocdoc new patient booking fee, learn more here.
In Sponsored Results, you can set a bid for all searches, set bids for targeting groups, or use both together.
We recommend setting bids in the Competitive range to help your campaign get bookings through Sponsored Results. There are four ranges:
Less competitive: At this bid, you are less competitive than most practices in your market. You are unlikely to get many Sponsored bookings
Competitive: At this bid, you are as competitive as the average practices in your market. You are likely to get some Sponsored bookings
More competitive: At this bid, you are more competitive than other practices in your market. You are likely to get more Sponsored bookings with this bid.
Most competitive: You are one of the most competitive practices in your market. You are likely to get many Sponsored Results bookings.
Setting bids for targeting groups
If you use visit reason targeting, you can set a bid for each targeting group. For example, you may set a bid for all searches in a campaign, then set a higher bid for a targeting group that includes specific services, procedures, or types of care that are important to your practice.
Recommended bids are a starting point. You can adjust them based on your goals, budget, and what makes sense for your practice.
What happens if a visit reason is in more than one targeting group?
If the same visit reason is included in more than one targeting group, Zocdoc will use the higher bid for that visit reason in the auction.
You do not need to manually choose which targeting group applies. Zocdoc determines the applicable bid and uses it in the auction to determine whether your listing is eligible to appear as a Sponsored Result.

After you enroll or create a new campaign, the ad system takes 14 days to learn how the campaign performs in its market. The ad system uses these learnings to give tailored bid recommendations for the campaign.
The ad system refreshes bid recommendations regularly to help you stay competitive in your market.
