How to set a bid in Sponsored Results

Learn how to set a competitive bid in Sponsored Results.

Updated over 11 months ago

Your bid is the most you’re willing to pay for a Sponsored booking. This is in addition to the Zocdoc new patient booking fee, learn more here.

We recommend that you set a bid in the Competitive range to get bookings through Sponsored Results. There are four ranges:

  • Less competitive: At this bid, you are less competitive than most practices in your market. You are unlikely to get many Sponsored bookings

  • Competitive: At this bid, you are as competitive as the average practices in your market. You are likely to get some Sponsored bookings

  • More competitive: At this bid, you are more competitive than other practices in your market. You are likely to get more Sponsored bookings with this bid.

  • Most competitive: You are one of the most competitive practices in your market. You are likely to get many Sponsored Results bookings.

What’s next?

After you enroll or create a new provider group, the ad system takes 14 days to learn how the group performs in its market. The ad system uses these learnings to give personalized bid recommendations for the provider group. Learn more about the learning period here.

The ad system refreshes bid recommendations regularly to help you stay competitive in your market. If your bid falls below the Competitive range, you’ll be notified in your Sponsored Results dashboard. This may happen as competitors enter the market or increase their bids.
