First, be sure to discuss the changes with the patient beforehand. Otherwise, changing the appointment without notifying the patient can lead to a negative patient experience. The patient will be sent an email once you modify the appointment.

If a patient contacts your office to change their Zocdoc appointment, make sure to indicate the change in your Zocdoc calendar so that your availability is accurate.

From there, you can modify the appointment date, time, location, provider, and visit reason all within Inbox.

How do I modify appointments?

  1. Log into Zocdoc, and navigate to your Inbox

  2. Find and select on the booking in your Inbox

  3. Click on the Edit appointment at the bottom of the appointment. Then, click on Modify appointment. You can update the appointment date, time, location, provider, or visit reason.

  4. A pop-up will appear allowing you to make detailed changes. Note that the reason for change that you select here is not sent to the patient (but you should still communicate this to the patient ahead of time).
