First off, log into Zocdoc, go to Inbox, and select the booking. The appointment card will appear on the right.
Contact the patient directly
The Contact information tab contains the patient’s contact information, like their phone number and email address. The Demographic information tab contains information like the patient's age, sex, and address. Zocdoc verifies all patients’ phone numbers before they can book appointments.
We require patients to have an email address and a verified phone number to book the appointment.
Note: Some patients may elect to create a Zocdoc account using Apple to hide their email address, which will appear as a @privaterelay.appleid.com email address. If that is the case, only messages sent through Zocdoc's messaging capabilities described below will reach the patient.
Requesting information through Zocdoc
You can also request information from a patient directly from Inbox. There are two options: request a call or send an Intake reminder.
At the bottom, you can select Request info, and then select how you want to contact the patient. If you are using Intake, you will also have the option to select Collect intake.
You may also choose to communicate with the patients directly with the information provided. You can find the patient’s phone number and email address from your appointment card. See this article for more information.
Request patients to call the office
Let patients know that you need more information, like insurance, visit reason, and/or other information ahead of their appointment. Select Request patient to call the office from the appointment card to send the patient a text message asking them to call your office phone number.
Click on Preview text message to see what the text message will look like to patients. Note that you can only choose this option once per booking at this time.
Send reminder to complete Intake
If you have opted into Intake, you can click Collect intake. This will send a text message to the patient reminding them to complete your intake.
Note that this Intake reminder will be sent in addition to Zocdoc’s automated Intake reminders which are sent 48 hours, 24 hours, and 90 minutes before a scheduled appointment.
