Laura Hood is Vice President of Product Marketing at Zocdoc, leading teams that help shape, communicate, and launch Zocdoc’s products to patients and practices large and small. Laura oversees development of go-to-market strategies, product positioning, and provider lifecycle marketing to increase awareness of Zocdoc’s products and demonstrate value to our customers.
Laura joined Zocdoc in 2017 as the company’s first product marketer. She now oversees a team of all stars that are passionate about understanding user needs to ensure we’re building the right solutions and marketing effectively to the right audiences.
Prior to Zocdoc, Laura was VP of Marketing at YouNow, a social live video platform in New York City. She got her first taste for marketplaces at Etsy as Director of Product and Brand Marketing. There, she focused on driving product growth and community engagement among buyers and sellers, and oversaw large-scale campaigns, including Etsy’s IPO. Before that, Laura worked at Google, starting in client management with AdWords and transitioning to marketing. There, Laura worked on key company initiatives, including the development of Google’s thought leadership program, Think with Google, YouTube Symphony Orchestra, and Search Stories.
Laura graduated from the University of Vermont with a BA in English. Freezing cold, she then moved to California for seven years. Once thawed, Laura headed back to the East coast, finally landing in Connecticut where she lives with her husband and two daughters.
