In July 2024, the Supreme Court of the State of New York granted summary judgment dismissing a lawsuit that Zocdoc co-founder and former CEO Cyrus Massoumi brought against three Zocdoc executives regarding his removal as CEO in 2015. The lawsuit was originally filed in September 2020.
Throughout the process, the company and the defendants—Zocdoc co-founders Oliver Kharraz and Nick Ganju, and CFO Netta Samroengraja—consistently maintained that Mr. Massoumi’s lawsuit was frivolous and wholly without merit. Zocdoc underwent a lawful, compliant change in leadership that was necessary to secure the company’s future. Read more here about the need for that change and the company’s subsequent turnaround.
As a result of this transition, Zocdoc transformed and reinvigorated its business model and its culture. Today, Zocdoc is the nation’s leading healthcare marketplace. It is also a profitable, sustainable and growing business. The company and defendants are pleased that this matter is behind us and remain committed to Zocdoc’s mission to give power to the patient.
