We all can benefit from safe and non-judgmental spaces and relationships to sort through our thoughts, emotions, and experiences. This helps us to make changes for the better and imagine and create a present day reality that feels satisfying and meaningful.
In my practice, I offer both psychotherapy and wellness counseling. In psychotherapy, I see individual adults and families who are seeking to create change in their lives. Many people are feeling stuck or challenged in some ways that have been difficult to resolve. Clients may be experiencing symptoms of anxiety and depression that are taking a daily toll, relationships may feel unsatisfying, or stress and self-criticism are impacting mood and performance at work.
Treatment is guided by Accelerated Experiential Dynamic Psychotherapy (AEDP), an approach that uses the mind, body, and emotions in making change. Clients have new and meaningful experiences in sessions which are part of the change process. I work collaboratively with clients to understand the origins of present challenges and to safely feel what has not been felt. This motivates change for the better and re-awakens the feeling of vitality. Clients can then re-engage with their careers, loved ones, and themselves in more meaningful ways.
I also provide wellness counseling. With training in yoga, ayurvedic yoga therapy, and breathwork, I work with the mind-body connection to support clients with implementing lifestyle changes. This can include improving diet, exercise, sleep, and stress management, and building in more positive social connections and play. In addition, I offer immersions in nature, coupled with mindfulness, based on a growing body of research that demonstrates meaningful physical and mental health benefits of such experiences.
The importance of providing clients with the experience of feeling seen, heard, and understood is a top priority from the first meeting and throughout the process of working together.
