Jessica Murphy is a licensed mental health counselor who utilizes an integrative approach and is a student in SE (Somatic Experiencing) when working with adolescents and adults struggling with life obstacles, difficult emotions, and trauma. I’m currently a student in Somatic Experiencing and would love to support you in creating a relationship with your body that fosters healing and connection. Throw out your definition of trauma - trauma is completing in the body what was not allowed to complete! Let's forgive our system for protecting us, but now let's help it feel safe instead. In our sessions, we will learn to track bodily sensations, explore gentle movements that the body feels impulsed to do, lessen the 'charge' of what shows up in our system and process traumatic experiences at a pace that feels right for your nervous system. Let your nervous system meet mine, and do this healing stuff together. Through my training at the Somatic Experiencing International, I have been trained to work with the following: -Fears such as flying, heights, driving over bridges etc -Motor vehicle accidents, natural disasters, war, genocide etc -Individuals preparing for surgeries, dental procedures, pre and post surgery experiences -Sexual trauma and boundary work -Experiences of horror -Abandonment, severe loss or death, divorce, substance use in the environment, discrimination of any kind etc -Substance use and recovery - Shame and guilt -Attachment styles and its impact on our relationships -War Veterans integrating back to home - working through orienting back to sounds, feeling a sense of safety again, connecting with loved ones, etc
