What is an Allergist?
An allergist is a specially trained medical doctor who can diagnose and treat asthma and immune system diseases. Conditions requiring the attention of an allergist can include allergic eye diseases, eczema, hives, and chronic sinus infections. Allergists can also test for common allergens like wheat, soy, pet dander, mold, medication, bee venom, pollen, and latex. Allergists are certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology.
