NEW ENGLAND
In-demand specialty: Patients in the Boston metro area are overwhelmingly searching for mental health providers.
MID-ATLANTIC
In-demand specialty: Patients in the New York metro area are overwhelmingly searching for ENT specialists.
In-demand specialty: Patients in the Philadelphia metro area are overwhelmingly searching for primary care specialists.
In-demand specialty: Patients in the Washington D.C. metro area are overwhelmingly searching for primary care specialists.
MIDWEST
Patients are young: On average, 41% of patients in the Midwest are in their 20s and 34% are in their 30s. In particular, the Chicago metro market skews younger compared to other cities like New York (where 34% of bookers are in their 20s) and the national average (37% of bookers are in their 20s).
Patients are commercially insured: 87% — an overwhelming majority of bookings on Zocdoc — are made with commercial insurance in the Midwest.
Patients are new: 80% of bookings in the Midwest are new patient bookings.

SOUTH
Patients are young: On average, 38% of patients in the South are in their 20s and 30% are in their 30s. The national average for patients in their 20s is 37%, which is on par with Houston (37%). Both Charlotte and Tampa clock in above average with 42% and 40% of patients in their 20s, respectively.

SOUTHEAST
In-demand specialty: Patients in the Atlanta metro area are overwhelmingly searching for ENT specialists.
