Dr. Balin was warm, welcoming and is one of the best out there. She did everything she could to keep patients relaxed and comfortable. I just wish she was in network with my insurance.

Dr. Silen Balin graduated from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech) with a Double Major in Bio-Chemistry and Chemistry and received her dental degree from the New York University College of Dentistry. Prior to her career in dentistry, Dr. Balin worked as a bio-chemist, focusing on clinical research in the area of fertility drugs. Dr. Balin is a member of the American Dental Association and has received her certification in Invisalign (clear braces) and also specializes in permanent tooth replacement (dental implants)and restoratives. Dr. Balin is strongly committed to providing superior patient service as well as making each visit comfortable and pleasurable. She sees patients of all ages. She believes in educating her patients on the benefits of good oral hygiene, healthy nutrition, guiding their dental growth and development and helping them avoid future dental problems.

My appointment was everything I expected and then some. The office is well kept, clean and relaxing. Dr. Silen Balin was informative every step of the way. She is the best dentist I have gone to in the city and would recommend anyone to go to her if you are in the Center City / Rittenhouse Square area of Philadelphia!

It was great! She showed my how to read my X-rays and was super helpful in explaining everything. Also didn't make me feel bad about myself for having cavities, which is something that makes me uneasy about going to most dentists.

My visit was excellent. I was seen by the dentist moments after I entered for my appointment. The cleaning was quick and thorough. And all the staff were courteous. However, I would like to mention that being charged $75 for digital photos of my teeth that were taken by a Digital SLR camera and uploaded to a computer is a expensive and NOT covered by my insurance. It would have been good to know this prior to them insisting that its just a part of my records. I would have skipped the photos and just had my cleaning performed, which was FREE.

I had the same dentist for all 28 years of my life before coming to Philly. Dr. Balin made me forget all about him (sorry, Dr. Plant!). The office is great and she is super effecient.
I had to come back to get a filling replaced. They made an appointment for me within the month. On the day of, it took maybe 15 minutes from the moment I arrived to when I walked out the door. No discomfort, just a numb face and shiny new filling. I only hope I can find another dentist this awesome whenever it happens that I move out of the area.

Great experience! The office is beautiful and everybody from the secretaries to the doctors are genuinely friendly. I went for a cleaning which was done very well, and the doctor also gave me some general information on my dental health. I would definitely recommend this place!

I was very pleased with my initial appointment. The building itself is beautiful, the receptionist is welcoming and the assistants are as well. I expected to wait for awhile before being seen because this is what I am used to. I also thought it may take a long time being my initial appointment. I was wrong on all counts. I was barely able to finish the paperwork before I went back and my X-rays were done in under 15 minutes. All together for X-rays and cleaning, I was in the office under 30 minutes! It was by far the most efficient and pleasant dentist appointment I've ever had!

Doctor Balin and her hygienists were very friendly and she quickly and gently cleaned my teeth. The waiting room is lovely, but I was annoyed that I had to wait nearly an hour after my scheduled appointment to be taken in.

Once I got in, she and her staff were very kind and professional. They warned me if they thought something they had to do would cause pain. Their cheerful manner also helped raise the mood.

To start Dr. Balin told me to schedule an appointment I should use ZocDoc, I was a little apprehensive scheduling an appointment online but it actually was really easy. I even got a reminder before my appointment. Dr. Balin was wonderful, I found her to be extremely caring and most important she listened to my concerns about my tooth and then took the time to explain my options. I usually feel like a number at the doctor, here i actually felt like a patient.
