Dr. Yerram was kind. I didn’t feel like I was being rushed at all. She took her time and asked questions about the labs I needed done as a follow up to a recent surgery. She made sure they got done right away.
I value efficiency over almost everything. Honestly a month ago I would have gone to the Minute Clinic at CVS if babies were on their menu. First two visits I sat there frustrated about how long it took to get seen and puzzled about how it could be this bad consistently. Rationale was always some emergency or urgent patient situation came up and that threw the schedule off. Well third visit I became that time sensitive patient situation and at that point you don't really care about how long you waited because correct course of action and bedside manner become far more important. In that moment, Dr Jones was great and very reassuring. You can either complain about wait time or ability to respond to unexpected patient situations, but it's unfair to complain about both because they are two sides of the same coin. I imagine as a doctor in this specialty you have to make the decision to optimize for one or the other. Clearly Dr. Jones has decided to optimize for the patient care side. So block the 2 hours on your calendar, watch some HGTV, catch up on the latest People Magazine gossip, and just chill. In the grand scheme it's really not a big deal.
What is an ob/gyn?
An Obstetrician-Gynecologist (OBGYN) is a doctor who specializes in everything related to women’s reproductive health, including pregnancy and childbirth. OBGYNs screen for certain diseases such as breast cancer and cervical cancer. They also diagnose and treat women’s reproductive health issues including sexually transmitted infections (STIs), menstrual issues, abnormal bleeding, polycystic ovarian syndrome, fertility, and more. Some OBGYNs specialize in maternal-fetal medicine, which means they treat and monitor pregnant women and their babies. They also perform deliveries and c-sections.
