Having come from a professional art background, Dr. Mantinaos is unique in the world of dentistry. He earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree and pursued a career in drawing and painting. Through art, Dr. Mantinaos developed a deep appreciation for science and nature and, hence, was immediately attracted to dentistry. Dr. Mantinaos earned a Doctorate of Dental Surgery from New York University College of Dentistry in 2000, graduating Magna Cum Laude. After completing a General Practice Residency the following year, the Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center in Manhattan selected Dr. Mantinaos for a 3-year post-doctoral program in specialty of Prosthodontics. The intensive program afforded him the opportunity to gain knowledge and proficiency in advanced techniques with a wide variety of dental implant systems. In July 2004 Dr. Mantinaos was awarded a Certificate in Prosthodontics. As a prosthodontist, Dr. Mantinaos draws from a variety of materials and techniques to render beautiful smiles. In February 2018 Dr. Mantinaos was a delegate at the first TEDx MIS event during the MIS International Implant Symposium. TED is a Silicon Valley organization known for hosting innovative online talks in the scientific community. A wide variety of out of the box topics were discussed; from digital design and augmented reality in the near future of dentistry to patient centered outcome measures and appropriateness of treatment modalities.
