Dr. Erin Johnson was born and raised in Huntsville, Alabama, however, she has always had ties to Maryland and has been an Orioles fan from the time she could walk. She began dancing at the age of 4 and danced competitively for 15 years. She developed a passion for chiropractic when she was in an auto accident at the age of 17, which caused such severe low back pain that she had to take time away from school and dance. Rather than go the route of conventional medicine, she sought out her family chiropractor who had her back on her feet and ready to compete again within weeks. Dr. Erin received her Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science from the University of Alabama, where she also discovered her love of college football. Her favorite season is football season, and she loves cheering on the Alabama Crimson Tide (Roll Tide!). She is an avid animal lover and has a furry little cat named Calypso. She loves the outdoors, one of her favorite experiences being camping in the Negev desert in Israel. After receiving her Bachelor's degree, she continued her education at Life University College of Chiropractic where she met her fiancee, Dr. Jacob Becker and graduated Cum Laude with her Doctor of Chiropractic degree. Dr. Erin was fortunate enough to complete her internship with Dr. Anthony Hardnett at Effective Integrative Healthcare and now a year later life has brought her back to the Effective team.
Dr. Erin is certified by the National Board of Chiropractic Examiners in chiropractic practice, physiotherapy and adjunctive procedures. Dr. Erin is currently in the process of obtaining her certifications in Dry Needling and the Webster technique in hopes to offer even better care to her patients. She is proficient in numerous chiropractic techniques as well as soft tissue mobilization. She strives to always be growing and Dr. Erin is constantly searching for avenues through which to expand her chiropractic knowledge so as to provide the best care possible for her patients. She is incredibly excited to be a part of such an amazing team and to help as many people as possible in the coming years!
