Dr. Amr Azim is board certified in obstetrics & gynecology as well as reproductive endocrinology & infertility. He has special training and expertise in assisted reproduction and preservation of fertility. Dr Azim graduated from Cairo University Medical School in 1991. He earned his master and doctoral degrees in reproductive sciences at The University of Cairo where he also completed a four-year obstetrics & gynecology residency. He then completed a second residency in obstetrics & gynecology at the New York Presbyterian hospital – Weill Cornell Medical College. This was followed by a three-year fellowship at Cornell. He has extensive experience in IVF in women with low response to ovarian stimulation, male factor infertility, PCOS, endometriosis, preservation of fertility including ovarian stimulation in estrogen sensitive cancers (e.g breast cancer), egg freezing and ovarian tissue cryopreservation. His research interests include improving outcomes in women with diminished ovarian reserve, the effects of ovarian stimulation on breast cancer and methods of oocyte and ovarian tissue freezing. His research has been published in many leading journals as The Journal of Clinical Oncology, The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism and Fertility & Sterility. He has lectured to physicians, nurses and genetic counselors and patients around the world on the subject of fertility preservation. He is also a reviewer for Fertility Sterility journal and The Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism. Dr Azim is a fellow of The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology, The American Society for Reproductive medicine and The Society for Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility.
