Hello, my name is Cecilia Parker, and I am a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner committed to providing compassionate, evidence-based, whole-person care. I hold nursing degrees from Coppin State University and the University of Alabama at Birmingham.
With more than 20 years of nursing experience—from the fast-paced environment of the emergency department to the supportive setting of school health—I have had the privilege of caring for individuals across the lifespan and from all walks of life. These diverse experiences revealed a consistent truth: physical wellbeing cannot be sustained without mental health and emotional stability. Working with individuals in varying levels of distress also highlighted the ongoing need for education, awareness, and access to high-quality mental health care.
These experiences clarified my calling and shaped the foundation of my practice. My work is guided by three core principles:
1. Providing holistic, evidence-based care that is responsive to the unique needs of each person I serve
2. Cultivating strong, collaborative relationships with clients and treatment teams to ensure coordinated, effective care
3. Empowering clients and families through education, helping them make informed decisions and actively participate in their treatment journey
I approach every interaction with the same thoughtfulness, respect, and unconditional positive regard that I would want for my own family.
On a personal note, my husband and I have been married for more than 40 years and are the proud parents of 6 wonderful children and thirteen grandchildren. I find gardening deeply therapeutic, enjoy exploring DIY projects, and love cooking and entertaining family and friends.
