Chike Obianwu, MD. is a board certified OB/GYN, who has extensive training in minimally invasive and robotic surgery, with special interest in fibroid managment. Dr. Obianwu received his B.S. degree in Microbiology from Tulsa University and his Doctorate in Medicine from Ross University. He has special interest in high risk obstetrics and Da Vinci robotic surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Gynecology and the American College of Surgeons . His academic experience spans over 20 years, in which he has held various teaching appointments including Clinical Assistant Professor at SUNY Buffalo and Drexel University.
Dr Obianwu has been the Chief of Obstetrics at Virtua -Memorial Hospital of Burlington County for five years. He has served in various medical staff and leadership roles and sits on several committees at this institution. He helped to pilot the Da Vinci robotic surgery program and is a member of the Virtua Hospital Robotic Steering Committee.
Dr. Obianwu is a member of many local and national medical and OB/GYN organizations, including ACOG, AMA, AAGL, American Society for Gynecologic Laparoscopists, and the Society for Laparoendoscopic Surgeons. Dr. Obianwu is one of the most experienced gynecological robotic surgeons in South Jersey. He has been selected as a national proctor for Da Vinci. He has educated many surgeons throughout the country in the use of the Da Vinci system. He performs robotic surgery at three local area hospitals. Virtua, Lourdes and Cooper University Hospital, performing over two hundred (200) robotic cases in the last two years. In addition, he continues to proctor physicians nationwide.
