Dr. Claude Smith is a board-certified psychiatrist. He has been with Discovery MD since May, 2023. Dr. Smith graduated from Tulane School of Medicine and completed his residency in psychiatry at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He began his medical career in the US Navy as an Undersea Medical Officer and became very familiar with military life. In 2021, he joined the Navy Reserves in the capacity of psychiatrist and also as the installer of a local drilling unit. Dr. Smith has been affiliated with MedStar Union Memorial Hospital in Baltimore, MD, for the past 25 years. He has extensive experience in all levels of care, from outpatient to inpatient settings and as a medical consultant liaison.
