Dr. Dushyant N. Patel is a Board-Certified internist, trained at the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, MI where he had extensive training in Internal Medicine and Subspecialties as well as Emergency Medicine. He graduated from the prestigious M.S. Univ. of Baroda Medical College (India) after being invited for the admission to the medical college based on Academic High Honors (and Distinction including his ranking 1st in Physics) in his Pre-Science College at the S.P. University in Gujarat, India. Dr. Patel passed all medical exams on first attempt including his Board Certification in the U.S.A. He has been in private practice in San Jose since 1981, practicing Internal Medicine, and Geriatrics. Over the years, he practiced as a hospitalist covering emergency rooms at local hospitals and assisted ER Physicians with complex medical patients, providing exemplary medical care and participated in various committees at the local hospitals.
In 2010, The Doctors Improving Healthcare, Inc. from the NBC Bay Area TV listed him as one of the TOP DOCTORS in "The Best in Bay Area Medicine" (without his solicitation). The Consumer Research Council of America (without his solicitation) listed Dr. Dushyant Patel as a "Top Doc."
He also has experience as an Expert Reviewer for Medical Board of CA, CMRI, and CDCR and has performed Disability Evaluation exams for SSA/private insurances. He evaluates some car/other accidental injuries cases. He is a Civil Surgeon qualified to do Immigration Exams for I-693 forms. Dr. Patel is a detail oriented, comprehensive, caring, compassionate physician who renders his care spending the time necessary for the patient's problems and thoroughly explains the diagnoses and treatment plans to the patient. He provides the highest quality of patient care and he greatly emphasizes the preventive care and works with patients to encourage their cooperation for the best outcome. Some of the interesting cases that he attended are quite reflective of his attributes/skills as a physician.
He treats most medical problems (common and complex) in his specialties and gives second opinion if requested. He performs Pre- and Post-Operative/Procedure medical examinations and provides instructions including reviewing medications regularly. He reviews all correspondence from consultants and all Lab/tests reports and discusses them with patients during their follow up visits. He has excellent bedside manners and rapport with patients/family and spends significant time with them. Dr. Patel renders impeccable quality of care.

The doctor was not very clear about anything and was mostly just worried about the insurance going through and my credit card details. The doctor even asked me to provide him with my credit card details and checked it over, again and again. I felt like he thought I was trying to scam him. The office was a mess and the staff did not really know what they were doing. Never going there again.
