Dr. Emily Prosise has practiced dermatology since 2001. As an active fellow of the American Society for Mohs surgery, Dr. Prosise specializes in surgical dermatology and skin cancer. She studied at Duke University for undergraduate and medical school. She did internship at UT Health Science Center-San Antonio. Dr. Prosise was a dermatology resident at Stanford University Medical Center, and was chosen to be chief resident. She has served as clinical assistant professor at New York University and University of California, Irvine.
Dr. Prosise was President of the Austin Dermatological Society for 2012. She is also a member of the American Society for Dermatological Surgery, the American Academy of Dermatology, the Travis County Medical Society, Texas Medical Association, and the Women's Dermatologic Society.
Dr. Prosise lives in Austin with her husband Chris and children Theo and Claire.

At retirement, my insurance company changed and I had to switch to a dermotologist who took my new insurance.
Dr. Prosise has a warm, engaging personality. She was knowledgeable and efficient. That said, her style of treatment management is less collaborative than my previous dermotologist. If I could do the visit over, I would have created a more collaborative experience by asking more questions, slowing the process down a bit.
