More about Dr. Hossein Ansari, MD
Dr. Ansari is board certified neurologist who also completed fellowship at Headache and Facial Pain at Mayo Clinic, Rochester, Minnesota and obtained board certification on Headache medicine by the United Council of Neurological Subspecialty (UCNS). Then he moved to Akron, Ohio, where he created a multidisciplinary Headache clinic at Neurology and Neuroscience Associates (NNA), served as the Medical Director of its headache clinic. He also was assistant professor of medicine at Northeastern Ohio Medical University and consultant neurologist for Summa Health system. In June, 2015, Dr. Ansari moved to San Diego in order to develop UCSD’s Headache and facial pain clinic, where he also advanced to associate professor of Neuroscience. He served as director of headache clinic for 5 years and he is still continues his teaching career at UCSD. In July 2020, Dr. Ansari joined “Kaizen Brain Center (KBC)” to use his previous experiences and expertise in order to develop a multidisciplinary Headache and Facial Pain and help advancing Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) program at KBC.
Dr. Ansari is actively involved in multiple domestic and international professional societies, including the International Headache Society (IHS), American Interventional Headache Society (AIHS) and American Academy of Neurology (AAN). He presented in dozens of national and international conferences.
His special interests are the interventional and procedural treatment of headache with focus on migraine; diagnosis of complex headache syndrome , facial pain with particular attention to autoimmune trigeminal neuropathy and trigeminal neuralgia, neurological manifestation of systemic disorder with focus on neuro-rheumatology and neuropharmacology.
