More about Dr. Kida Thompson, MD
I moved from Trinidad and Tobago to the US in 1999 to pursue undergraduate education and from there focused on getting into medical school. I was inspired to go to medical school by the death of my father in 1994 at the age of 40. The medical care he received was, in my opinion, not the best, coming from a third world country and I decided to enter the medical field so that I could provide quality care to the sick, and in turn, hopefully make a difference.
I entered the field of Family Medicine because it is such a diverse field and I do enjoy the continuity of care, which is one of the foundations of the field.
As I am from the Caribbean, I do enjoy travelling to visit my family any chance that I get. I love to try new cuisines (not cook them) and I enjoy getting into a good book. My most recent activity is HIIT (high intensity interval training), which I have gotten really hooked on. I am excited to be in El Paso and look forward to providing care to this wonderful population.
