Dr Olasupo ''Ola'' Odunsi has been in clinical practice for 20 years. He received his board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine [ABIM] in September 1997.He became recertified by exam by the same board in March 2009. He began his medical education at the University of Ibadan ,Nigeria. He subsequently completed his internship in medicine, pediatrics, surgery and obstetrics and gynecology at various hospitals in Lagos, Nigeria .His quest for learning and love of medicine led him to come to the United States.
He received his postgraduate/residency training at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons in New York with clinical work at Harlem Hospital also in New York. He has practiced at various locations including New Jersey, New York and Virginia. Since March 2009, Dr Odunsi has been a attending physician affiliated with Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring MD and Laurel Regional Hospital in Laurel, MD where he holds clinical privileges Being board certified in Internal medicine makes Dr. Odunsi an expert in various aspects of primary care including diabetes, hypertension, liver ,kidney diseases ,chronic lung diseases including asthma and many other clinical conditions .He is especially interested in the field of bariatrics ,a field that deals with weight management and obesity issues .He is a member of the premier bariatric society in the United States, the American Society of Bariatric Physicians[ASBP]. He is married with children.
