With over 15 years in practice, Renee Barron, FNP, is a trusted leader in preventive care, focusing on women’s health and family medicine. Renee warmly welcomes new and existing patients to Southwest Family Physicians in Tigard, Oregon.
Renee has been working in healthcare since 2007, between her time as an RN and then as a Family Nurse Practitioner, with experience in various settings for all ages – from birth through the entire lifespan. She is a certified lactation specialist and a certified medical interpreter in Spanish.
Caring and compassionate, she feels it is vital that all her patients are listened to and valued during every visit to feel supported and empowered to reach their personal and individualized health goals.
Renee received a Bachelor of Arts from Colgate University in Hamilton, New York. Initially, she worked as a print journalist in Upstate NY, but she couldn’t shake the feeling that her true calling was in healthcare.
After receiving an Associate Nursing Degree from Onondaga Community College (SUNYOCC) in New York, she began her nursing career in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, caring for children in general pediatrics, neonatal intensive care, pediatric hematology and oncology, and pediatric intensive care.
Renee received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Nova Southeastern University (NSU) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She then obtained her Master’s of Science in Nursing from Russell Sage College in Troy, New York.
Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Renee is happy to be back in her home state after many years of living away. Outside of work, Renee enjoys time with her husband, four children, and two dogs. She is likely out on the hiking trails, baseball fields, local fishing holes, and many of the other wonderful outdoor spaces that Oregon offers.
