Dr. Cohen completed his internal medicine residency at Duke University Medical Center and his nephrology fellowship training at The George Washington University Medical Center. He completed nephrology subspecialty training in glomerular diseases at Columbia University Medical Center-New York Presbyterian Hospital. He also completed a Masters in Public Health at The George Washington University School of Public Health. He is a Fellow of the American Society of Nephrology.
Dr. Cohen's clinical interests include the treatment of glomerulonephritis, chronic kidney disease, acute kidney injury, hypertension, renal transplantation and dialysis. His research interests include novel therapeutic options for the treatment of glomerulonephritis, and outcomes research in chronic kidney disease and acute kidney injury.

It's difficult to judge based on over-the-phone meeting but seems like he will be good. There was some miscommunication about my lab results. I emailed and asked how I could send them and never heard back. I then called two days before my appointment and the nice lady said I didn't need to send them in. Then on the day of the call, of course it was his first question. I can only seem to get a phone number for scheduling and not to a person in the medical office so I really don't know who to call or send my labs to. Nephrology is 100% dependent on lab results so I am not satisfied with the way this has been handled.

Dr. Cohen was very thorough and seemed very knowledgeable. He explained everything in detail and repeated it a few times to make sure I understood and it sunk in. I was taken back a few minutes before my appt time. All of the staff members I came in contact with were very pleasant.
