Many of you know me on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram as the Doc Who Lifts. I’m a board-certified physician in both family medicine and obesity medicine. I’m an avid weight lifter, and I help my patients lose weight and stay healthy with weight lifting. I grew up playing sports. In high school I was an all-American and won the state title in wrestling and was all-state in football. I went on to Michigan State University to play football and wrestle. I transferred to the University of North Carolina where I studied exercise physiology and did very well as a heavyweight. I went on to earn my doctor of osteopathy degree from The Edward Via College of Osteopathic Medicine, Virginia Campus.
