At Advanced Ophthalmology of Connecticut, Dr. Robert Fucigna and his staff of optometrists and ophthalmologists are dedicated to providing friendly, professional care for your eyes, from comprehensive eye exams to delicate surgery. We use state-of-the-art equipment and techniques to give you the best results.
In addition to routine eye examinations and prescriptions for eyeglasses and contact lenses, we provide top-quality services to treat a range of eye problems including cataracts, glaucoma, and refractive surgery.
Comprehensive testing is available for early detection of glaucoma, as are medication and surgery if glaucoma is detected. We offer corneal transplants and needle-free cataract surgery. We perform refractive surgery for vision correction, including traditional methods (Radial Keratotomy, or RK) as well as laser procedures such as LASIK and PRK featuring Wavefront technology.
Dr. Fucigna also performs cosmetic eye care services including BOTOX®, eyelid surgery (blepharoplasty) and surgical treatment for ptosis (drooping of the upper eyelid).

I was provided with a comprehensive eye exam without being told to go to specialistS .
I have a complicated auto immune disorder testing the doctor knew the disorder and immediately put my ease that it did not affect my eyes by showing me the test results and offering me additional information. I am sending the rest of my family to go have a normal eye exam with this doctor. He is fabulous.

Booked on Zocdoc. Got a reminder email from Zocdoc. Showed up the appt, but the doctor was out for the week. They found my Zocdoc booking ("Oh, I see that now"). Kind of annoyed about the wasted time.

Dr. Fucigna is great himself, but the office staff is not that friendly. Also, be prepared to wait 1-2 hours. I had an appointment at 11 and left the office at 12:45 which is just absurd. He is very friendly and quick once you finally sit with him though!

The staff was kind and patient but in the end it took 2.5 hours for my annual eye exam. I did all my paperwork with very nice assistant but between that and actually seeing the doctor is was another full hour. The doctor didn’t even apologize or recognize that I had been waiting for so long and then continued to banter and waste more of my time. Overall, would not recommend.

The staff was great and the exam was fine. However I had to wait 40 minutes to see the doctor who took 5 minutes to review my chart and complete the exam. Very inconsiderate for working professionals.

This was my first visit with Dr. Fucigna and I was extremely happy with my experience. The front desk staff was friendly and knowledgable and the technician who took my information and ran some tests was a joy to be around. He was friendly, put me at ease, and made sure that I was comfortable with everything happening. Dr. Fucigna was patient and took time to answer all of my questions. He also asked me a lot of questions to get to know me and I appreciated that.

Dr. Fucigna and his technician were both very thorough and friendly during the examination. The office is very careful with making sure everyone is safe from covid-19 and the staff wears masks. Great conversation with the doctor while he was checking my eyes too made it a very pleasant experience. He recently examined my wife's eyes too and she had nothing but praise as well.

My visit from beginning to end took over 3 hour. I had no underlying issues and 20/20 vision. Plus, I was charged for an unnecessary procedure that I repeatedly declined that the doctor aggressive pushed with no reasonable explanation. They said the test/procedure would cost one amount, not surprisingly it was higher. They were dishonest and aggressively pushing unnecessary procedures. Be aware. I will seriously reconsider returning to this office.

- The staff was friendly and organized.
- The overall checkup was longer and better than ALL OTHER places I’ve been to.
- Everyone took time with helping me, from the receptionist right up to Dr. Fucigna.
- I never had to wait.
- The technology is excellent; also better than I’ve seen anywhere else. They don’t use unnecessary equipment, either.
