Today my daughter and I visited this pediatrician for the first time. There was an unusually pleasant atmosphere in the office, friendly staff, and a qualified doctor who found the right approach from the very first minutes of the conversation.

I don’t usually write reviews, but this was too frustrating to ignore. As a Black father, I intentionally chose this provider for my son because they offer in-house speech and physical therapy with a Black doctor — representation matters. I booked through Zocdoc (as instructed), submitted all forms, and got confirmation. Then, the day before the appointment, they called to cancel, saying the doctor was overbooked and “all the young Black kids want to see her.” That’s not a compliment — it’s a sign your systems are failing. They rescheduled us over the phone (which they claimed they don’t do), and when I accidentally mixed up the new time with his PT, they refused to reschedule. No flexibility. No care. This practice markets to our community but doesn’t show up for us. If you want to serve Black families, do better — build better systems, respect our time, and stop hiding dysfunction behind diversity.

Dr. Ruddock was very patient, kind, and courteous. Our daughter has autism so I was a little worried, but Dr. Ruddock was so gentle and patient with her. She gave lots of helpful resources and feedback as well. The staff were very playful and friendly. Overall, I'm glad I found them, and I'm fully confident that she is in good hands! I definitely recommend her!
