Hello there. I treat individuals and families who are suffering. Often they are still trying to find a diagnosis or have had other treatments. Or, they may know their problem area and want help working on it. Anxiety or depression may bring someone to treatment, but what is going on is usually much more complicated than that. My approach is emotionally honest, warm, and personalized. I use medications when appropriate and also provide individual and couples psychotherapy. I also do 'just medication' with select therapists that I am comfortable working with.
I focus on young adult and adult anxiety and mood disorders. We would address symptoms but try to move beyond to understand the root causes. This is as much related to biology as it is connected to relationships, work, and sense of self.
I am earnest, combining empathy and collaboration to achieve progress. I want to create an environment where you can express yourself and feel safe being authentic. It is hard to start treatment and to conceive that life can be different. If you are ready, call or schedule an appointment.

11/10 Psychiatrist. He was very transparent in his logic behind the diagnosis, treatment plans, and was extremely knowledgeable. Usually I get nervous speaking to psychiatrists because it’s usually a one-sided conversation, but he was very collaborative and genuinely wanted to understand my need for psychiatry.

My case is pretty heavy and complicated, and trusting Dr Lohitsa was the best decision I made. On the first day of medication he prescribed, my brain already feels better. Hope this is the beginning of only positive changes in my healing process. Dr Lohitsa is amazing!

Dr Lohitsa creates an incredibly welcoming environment. Especially for someone like me who has never seen a psychiatrist before, he did an excellent job of creating a safe space to converse, and walked me through the process (which not everyone does). Lohitsa has a very natural, genuine person approach. He is one of the few psychiatrists that shake your hand and give you a warm smile. Our conversation flowed easily and I felt very listened to and supported.

I have been treating my illness since 2009 and have seen a number of Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Nurse Practitioners and variations of mental health professionals...
Not. one. has come close to being able to really treat my illness the way Dr. Lohitsa has. When I met Dr. L, I was at an all-time low and had been off medication for months. He brought me back to life in a matter of weeks...a problem that in the past would have taken me months and months of work to reach, he was able to understand and treat in a matter of weeks (with a lot of hard work that we did together!). In my mind there is no one better in the biz than Dr. Lohitsa.
He sees you as a whole person- beyond your illness. He is invested in your success, your health and happiness and I will never forget the way he looked at me in the emergency room at xyz hospital- not as the grey shell of a human being that was helpless and sick, but as a real person in need of help.

After struggling with severe migraine headaches for years and being misdiagnosed time and time again by other doctors such as my PHC or a couple neurologists, I was recommended to Dr. Lohitsa. Upon meeting him for our first visit- I immediately felt that I was in the right hands, I mean within the first fifteen minutes or so of conversation....
