Alexandra Gaty Psychotherapy
My practice is grounded in the belief that meaningful therapy begins with feeling understood. I offer a thoughtful, collaborative, and trauma-informed approach that considers the whole person rather than focusing only on symptoms.
My work draws from psychodynamic therapy, mindfulness, cognitive and behavioral approaches, and somatic techniques. This allows therapy to be both reflective and practical, with attention to the connection between thoughts, emotions, relationships, past experiences, and the body. I may incorporate grounding, mindfulness, or other practical tools when they can support greater awareness and emotional regulation.
I particularly enjoy working with artists and creative professionals, whose work and identities can bring unique pressures around perfectionism, self-worth, creative blocks, and burnout. I also support individuals and couples through pregnancy, postpartum adjustment, parenthood, relationship challenges, and other major life transitions.
I strive to create a space that feels warm, genuine, and nonjudgmental, while also offering thoughtful perspectives and gentle challenges when appropriate. The goal is not to fit every person into the same therapeutic model, but to build an approach that reflects who you are, what you are experiencing, and what you hope to change.
