Alice M Shin MD

For the past 20 years, Dr. Alice Shin has taken pride in providing skilled, compassionate OB/GYN care to patients across the country. She treasures guiding patients through their pregnancy journeys and empowering them to make informed decisions about their sexual and reproductive health. Dr. Shin is committed to providing personalized care that considers and respects each patient's individual needs. After graduating from Stanford University with a degree in biology, Dr. Shin received her medical degree from Tulane University Medical School in Louisiana. She then completed her OB/GYN residency at Washington University in St. Louis and was awarded certification by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Dr. Shin provides a wide range of obstetric and gynecologic care. She specializes in low and high risk pregnancies, breast and pelvic screening, and common gynecologic problems. She has extensive experience with office procedures as well as open and minimally invasive (laparoscopic) gynecological surgeries. She enjoys creating long-term relationships with her patients that allow her to care for them during every stage of life.

I'd never been to an OB/GYN before in my life, but Dr. Shin really set me at ease. The appointment was quick and painless and I felt listened to about my personal history. For my fellow LGBTQ+ patients, I found the forms prior to the appointment very respectful of gender and orientation, including bits for how you would like your body referred to.

Dr. Shin was amazing and treated me with such care. OB appointments can be scary, especially IUD insertions. She talked me through the entire process and her office provided ibuprofen and a hot compress for me to take home for cramps. Cannot recommend enough!

Dr. Shin was outstanding. She was very knowledgeable and calming and walked through every step of the IUD replacement procedure with me. Critically, she provided pain management, which should become the standard of care for all Ob-gyns for this procedure. The office also allows patients to bring 1 visitor with them into the exam room.
