Alicia Walker LCSW

I am a LCSW who sees individuals, couples and families. I provide tele-health and in person psychotherapy. Change is not only scary, it is difficult. The laws of inertia tell us that nothing will change without an external force. I am an empathic, calming and listening external force. Whether it is depression or anxiety from a life transition/event or past/present trauma, reaching out for support is essential. My motto is simple but true- Be heard. Feel better. I have 27 years of experience as a therapist. I been trained in psychoanalytic theories (object relations, relational and modern psychoanalysis) and interventions as well as CBT and motivational interviewing (which is different than what it sounds like). I tailor the approach to the individual. I understand how scary reaching out can be. So many therapists, so many initials... It can be a very daunting task to find the correct match. However, like dating sometimes you just have try a few different therapists to figure out who is the correct match. (yes that is what we call it before the dating sites).
