Working with Anthea has helped me re-think my approach to food and reverse an “all or nothing” relationship I had with traditional dieting. We discussed realistic goals, emphasizing long-term success rather than quick fixes. As a parent with a toddler, I appreciate her creative ideas for incorporating nutritious foods into family meals without sacrificing taste or convenience which help to lay a strong foundation for my son. Her guidance allows me to be flexible, ensuring that I don’t feel deprived and am able to enjoy nights out or special occasions while keeping consistent in my overall habits. Anthea was recommended to me by my endocrinologist (I'm a Hashimoto's patient) after a few months of dysregulation, disordered eating habits, and a stress-related binging/restriction cycle. We've been working together since September with the goals of consistency, nourishment, and working toward a healing relationship with food and my body (with absolutely no emphasis on calorie-counting or scale-stepping). I track what I eat in a journal on the Practice Better app (though this is optional), and Anthea provides daily/weekly feedback on how to add protein and fiber to every meal. I used to rarely eat before lunch, but now I've become an expert in fueling my body well with breakfast and snacks to keep myself sated all day.

I have always been fairly diligent about watching what I eat and exercising. When I started working with Anthea, I had a limited selection of food that I would choose from. Very low carb and fat. I thought I knew a lot about nutrition, but I quickly learned there was so much I didn't know!
Since our initial consultation, I now have many options for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Tracking my meals also helps me see how much protein, carbs and fiber I am getting. didn't realize how much fiber was lacking from my diet! Anthea will comment on my meals and provide feedback and suggestions which I love.
