Allergy and Asthma Care of Blakeney welcomes you to our practice. Our primary goal is to focus on the needs and satisfaction of our patients by providing a high level of personal care.
Allergy and Asthma Care of Blakeney is an independent solo practice founded by Dr. Steven McEldowney, a Charlotte allergy and asthma specialist. Dr. McEldowney is an adult and pediatric allergist and is Board Certified by the American Board of Allergy and Immunology. Our allergy doctor is trained in the best allergist practices for prevention, diagnosis and treatment of allergic problems such as asthma, hay fever/rhinitis, sinusitis, food allergies, eczema, and stinging insect allergy (bee and fire ant). He also specializes in allergy testing and allergen immunotherapy (allergy shots).

Outstanding! I wish all of our doctors and staff were so great. Friendly staff! Nurse and doc were great listeners, not rushed, asked and answered questions so we all understood.

Unprofessional experience. Staff at this practice poorly handled my appointment, spoke to lady who scheduled and confirmed my appt between 2/3 calls and was instructed I needed to take allergy pill morning/day of my appointment. The lady instructed me INCORRECT information and even confirmed I would get an allergy test and allergy shot on the day of my appt. I drove 45 mins to be seen by Dr McEldowney with a 3 month old baby. I also had to wait 30-35mins to be seen for doctor to tell me the appointment setter gave me false information and I couldn’t get allergy test with an allergy pill in my system. However, I had already told the receptionist I don’t take allergy meds and how me taking allergy pill day of sounded off. She proceeded to instruct me to take it before I got to my appt. Also, this doctor kept beating around the bush with stupid irrelevant and repetitive questions and spokes extremely slow. This was a waste of time and extremely unprofessional. NOT coming back!

This was my first visit with Dr. McEldowney, and I was impressed. First his nurse and then he himself took time to listen, asking questions when they weren't sure of what I was saying. He explained to me the tests he was prescribing and why and answered my questions about those. Only downside was that I had to wait nearly an hour to see him, even though I had an early appointment time.

I would definitely recommend this doctor and his office. I was seen in a timely manner and he listened attentively to my concerns and came up with an action plan for me to follow and told me to call back if my symptoms didn’t improve and will be seeing me back in his office in 6 months for a follow up. He didn’t seem rushed to get to his next appointment and allowed me to ask any questions that I had. I felt very comfortable and at ease with him for my first visit and that meant a lot to me.
