I scheduled through Zocdoc, completed all paperwork in advance, and came seeking mental health care during a very difficult time. After arriving, I was told the provider I booked with wasn’t coming in. I had specifically chosen her because I wasn’t comfortable with a male provider. Instead, I was unexpectedly switched to a virtual intake with someone else without any consideration for my comfort or anxiety.
While waiting, I overheard staff casually discussing why the provider wasn’t there, which felt incredibly unprofessional. When the virtual visit finally started, the provider didn’t even appear on camera and simply asked, “How can I help you?” As a first-time intake, after everything that had happened, I felt completely defeated and left. It takes courage to ask for help, and I left feeling like I had been failed when I needed support the most. 0/10 recomendó
