Dr. John D. Cress is dedicated to spreading the message of health and wellness in Buffalo Grove and Arlington Heights. His practice emphasis is in the treatment of migraines and headaches, sports injuries, neck and low back pain, musculoskeletal conditions and disc herniations.
In his spare time Dr. Cress is very active and participates in many community outreach programs such as the Buffalo Grove High School entrepreneur mentor program, chess coach in local catholic schools, and serving as a guest speaker to upcoming graduating students.
As an avid athlete Dr. Cress participates in my many sports, from running to volleyball. Being a lifelong runner he has competed in many races from local 5k’s to destination races such as 4Deserts 250k in Chile and upcoming in Sri Lanka. Growing up as an avid BMX freestyler, his love for cycling has grown from something cool with friends to 100 mile bike rides.

Dr. Cress is friendly and very knowledgeable. He identifies and treats the underlying issue. I’ve never had to wait for the start of my appointment for more than a couple of minutes, even when the office is busy.

Dr. Cress was wonderful. He was patient, kind, and truly concerned about helping me. He was super friendly and explained everything that he was doing or about to do. His office is spotless and very welcoming. Very calming atmosphere. Yurelli, his Massage therapist has AMAZING hands as well. You don't even need to tell here where something hurts as she can feel it through her fingers. Melissa, their receptionist, is so friendly and helpful in booking appointments. Dr. Cress is very personable and he listens to you. He always asks what brings you in and then addresses it specifically. He's great at explaining why you have pain in an area, what causes it and how to avoid it address it long term. I would love to have a primary care Dr like him. He's been a tremendous help to me and I highly recommend him.

Dr. Cress was so personable and through. It was my first time at a chiropractor and I didn't know what to expect. He was also very cautious, explained what he thought was the issue, and responsibly ordered an MRI for me before further treatment. He even took the time to call the MRI location himself to get me in.

My first visit was a great experience. I appreciate that Dr. Cress is focused on only intervening as much as needed, no more. He appears to have an extensive background in sports and promotes whichever hobbies or exercise his patients enjoy. His explanations were concise but thorough, I look forward to continuing treatment.

I did NOT receive the service I paid for. I felt NOTHING AND WAS LEFT IN A FREEZING COLD ROOM for over 30minutes and never used sauna that was paid for. The Dr. was kind but I felt extremely rushed and avoided. Def not a good first experience. Also, when I got up to get dressed there was a random dog in the room. I was getting dressed and the dog just walked up touching me. Scared the life out of me, kinda wish I was told a dog was being left in the room woth me instead of a surprise. He’s a cute sweet dog though. Overall, experience was bad here. But the staff is nice and they have a cute dog.

I had an amazing 1st office visit with Dr. Cress! The physical assessment and medical explanation for my back pain were so comprehensive. Dr. Cress outlined a clear plan of action to address the pain at the root cause.
The visit far exceeded my expectations, and I have found a new chiropractor to get me on a path to wellness!

I started having burning pains in my head years ago and went to several neurologists to receive nerve block shots in my head just to numb the pain. The pain spread to my body was unbearable. I was even advised to put a stimulator in my head by pain management. Finally was told to try acupuncture. Dr Cress has an amazing and kind hearted personality and so does the whole staff. As soon as you walk in everyone is there to help. i definitely can say that Dr. Cress has saved me from my pain.
