Assessing Alternatives Counseling

Dealing with trauma and past hurts, struggling with work, relationships, or addiction, managing depression & anxiety, or better understanding one's gender identity or sexuality - it isn't easy to address any of these things. At Assessing Alternatives Counseling, we see therapy as a safe, judgment-free, shame-free, and confidential space where you are free to vent, confide, cry, discuss, imagine, find strength, and be empowered. Most importantly, therapy is a place for hope to come alive, to learn new coping skills, to achieve personal growth, and to discover that you are strong, valuable, and greater than any struggle you might have. Change is possible! At Assessing Alternatives Counseling, we offer a wide range of services to kids, teens, adults, and families dealing with conflict, relationship issues, anger, depression, anxiety, divorce, violence, gender identity, family reunification, abuse, and PTSD. Our approach is comprehensive, utilizing a variety of modalities, including EMDR, CBT, IFS & DBT. Meeting with a counselor can seem overwhelming and could be even anxiety-provoking, but it does not need to be. We understand how finances, relationships, children, family, & work can create anxiety, worries, stress, and even anger. You don't need to live being "weighed down" by these things - therapy can help lessen your burden! You are worth it!

Office wasn’t opened, it’s all Zocdoc’s fault not the provider.

She is honestly so amazing! Especially if you’re a postpartum mommy or even just a mommy in general looking for someone who understands. Non judgmental and so warmhearted.

Maddie is great!

This was our first meeting. I found Maddie to be empathetic, approachable, authentic, and real. She embodied everything I hope to find in a counselor. I look forward to our work together.
