I'm a person who does not like doctors, and I really liked Dr. Makkouk. He had great bedside manner, taking the time to answer all my questions in a way that made me feel heard. I also really liked his office (lots of modern equipment) and his staff.

My visit with Dr. Makkouk went very well. He sought out information from me about my eyesight issue and his feedback was very helpful. He did a thorough examination using the most up to date instrumentation. He answered all my questions with thorough explanations. He presented treatment options and detailed the pluses and minuses of the options. We discussed what would be the best approach to take at this time and in the near future. He closed by letting me know I could contact him at any time if I have further questions.

After filling a short information form, I was immediately taken by to the test room for retina scans and pressure measurements. I was then taken to the examination room and Dr. Makkouk joined me in a few minutes. He listened carefully to my questions and concerns and then was very thorough in responding. Dr. Makkouk has a friendly and professional manner that put me at ease and his thoroughness gave me comfort that I had received good medical advice. I saw Dr. Makkouk because I had been uncomfortable with the clinical manner and advice I had experienced from my former ophthalmologist.
I highly recommend Dr. Makkouk and Austin Eye Center to anyone needing care from a doctor of opthamology.

I visited Dr.Makkouk to get a new prescription for my eye glasses. I was aware that i have cataract, however i didn't know how much it gre since my last appointment with my eye doctor in Florida.
Dr.Makkouk was kind enough to show me the eye scan pictures which convinced me that I must get my cataract removed asap. He told me a new prescription glasses will not fix the problem.
As a result , I made appointment with my eye doctor in Florida and it will be done soon.
Thanks to Dr.Makkouk for being honest with me.

I specifically choose to book an appointment with Dr. Makkouk based on his stellar reviews, and he exceeded high expectations. I was extremely happy with my experience. Dr. Makkouk is clearly an expert in his field, and equally important he was happy to take the time to educate me as much as possible. It's clear that he cares deeply for his patients, and he is quite friendly as well.

A wonderful experience. The office and the staff were very warm, clearly expecting me and very welcoming. The Doctor was extremely personable, knowledgeable and took plenty of time explaining everything to me. The office was beautifully equipped with the very latest, state-of-the-art ophthalmological equipment. All in all a great experience. I highly recommend Dr. Makkouk and am thrilled that I found him and so close to home. I have a wonderful, new ophthalmologist.

It is a relatively small establishment. However a Great doctor. Good listener. Thorough and skillful in what he does. If you need to go and see an eye specialist, don't have to ponder over who to see. Just go and see him. You will not be disappointed.
