I wanted to search elsewhere for an eye doctor after the fromer eye center had closed permanently. I went to Montefiore and had a terrible experience. Then, I was looking for another eye doctor and had my primary doctor write a new referral for me. I saw her name on Zocdoc, and she met my needs. I would recommend her to my family and friends book an eye appointment here.

Dr. Madu was so nice, very thorough and spoke softly. She explained everything in lay language. Didn't scare me into doing or agree to go forth with any kind of treatment. Answered all of my questions, and at no time did I feel rushed. She sympathized with the high cost of some drops she ordered and not knowing how much the Insurance will pay, she stated not to worry will work something out. Nice staff members, very clean and nicely decorated office. Very pleased

Dr. Assumpta Madu is an excellent ophthalmologist. She is very knowledgable and understands the importance of her patients receiving the information needed to make thoughtful next steps. She carefully explains complex concepts and made time for my questions. Additionally, her office is modern and clean and the staff were kind.

Dr. Asumpta was very friendly and knowledgeable. She explained things thoroughly and I had a pleasant visit. Front desk staff was decent. They were dealing with a loud, disgruntled patient when I walked in, but they did their best to diffuse the situation, rather than escalate it, which was appreciated.
