Better With Bianca PLLC

Life is punctuated by a series of big events and changes, and the biggest changes are when you need the most support. It is crucial not to struggle alone and in silence. To further add complication, we are often prone to shutting down when we are enduring a big change or transition, making it harder to reach out for the support we need. From a developmental psychology perspective, birth represents the most profound adjustment a human endures. The transition from the intrauterine environment – where all needs are automatically met – to independent life requires a complete reorganization of physiological and neurological functioning. Birth marks the first separation. The process establishes the foundation for attachment, trust and early coping mechanisms. This highlights the remarkable resilience of the human organism and creates a blueprint for how individuals respond to future transitions throughout the lifespan. With change, comes an unspoken grief. Even when change is positive or necessary, it often means saying goodbye to routines, identities or relationships that once felt familiar and secure. This quiet sense of loss can feel confusing, especially if others expect you to “move on” quickly. In therapy together, we learn to allow two opposing realms to exist at the same time. The existence of one does not eradicate the other. This challenges the black and white thinking that the world promotes as making the most sense. Resilience isn’t something you’re simply born with; it’s a skill you can build. Through lived experience, your internal messaging can change to reflect a less catastrophic narrative. The captain of the ship takes charge, instead of the reactive lower deck helpers! With a wealth of therapy experience in a wide range of settings, Bianca welcomes any person in any stage of adjustment and life transition. Please note: this practice uses Headway to manage Informed Consent forms and insurance processing. When you book here on Zocdoc, Bianca will reach out and send a link to create your Headway portal. We look forward to meeting you!
