Blue Line Dental
Dr. Steven Chavez was born and raised in Miami, Florida. In high school when he went to get his first job, his father encouraged him to apply to the orthodontist office that was just a few blocks from home. Steven worked there for years, continuing to grow his commitment and education in oral health even once he went off to college at Florida International University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biology. He went on to attend the New York University College Of Dentistry, where he earned his degree as a Doctor of Dental Surgery. During that time, he engaged with volunteer opportunities overseas in Kathmandu, Nepal and Managua, Nicaragua treating underserved refugees and other community members in need of oral health support.
As a member of the American Dental Association, Dr. Chavez is enthusiastic about continuing education and trends in the field. In the U.S., he has participated with the nonprofit group Survivors for Torture, providing comprehensive dental treatment to international torture survivors. He has also contributed to the Odyssey House Community Outreach Program, providing dental care for community members dealing with substance abuse.
Now, Dr. Chavez lives and practices dentistry in the Midtown East neighborhood of New York City. Making his home and his business here, he hopes to revive the idea of a lifetime family dentist for people in the community.
Dr. Chavez is committed to providing conscientious and exceptional care while exceeding patient expectations. Offering a wide range of treatments including veneers, dental crowns and bridges, root canals, fillings, and much more, he is experienced in treating adults and children alike.
During his free time Dr. Chavez enjoys rock climbing, paddle boarding, and spending time with his wife and two children.

After one visit, they take great attention to diagnosing root causes of your oral health situation. They design a plan for improving your dental hygiene. Lots of useful information. Very polite critical feedback. It’s also not stressful. The technicians are very skilled and have almost no slips when cleaning.

I am still SHOCKED at how friendly everyone was. Amazing communicators. So personable - both the doctor and the whole team. Practice was busy but took time with everyone. THE MOST PLEASANT DENTAL APPOINTMENT I EVER EXPERIENCED. I would highly recommend to anyone. The team members made me feel like I was part of the treatment plan and did not just tell me what to do; seemed like a genuine care. Happily returning.

Amazing experience. I hadn’t been to a dentist and years, and I’m glad I found him! He explained everything he did and we have a full plan for everything going forward.

The warm welcome made me feel right at home even though I am new patient. Alana, the receptionist of the dental practice, was very thorough and professional. Ana, the hygienist for my dental cleaning, went well beyond the cleaning in scanning my teeth (a first for me!) and showing me, on a screen, details that I would have never been able to see. She gave me valuable advice about proper care of my teeth. Dr Chavez, who examined me after my cleaning, exudes trustworthiness through his concern, his communication skills, and the rapport he establishes with his patients. This is an exceptional dental practice whose spotless premises and cutting-edge technology perfectly match the professionalism of its staff, exceeding every expectation.

My first time here and I had such a GREAT experience! Wowww what an amazing staff Blue Line Dental has! I haven’t been to the dentist in years due to my phobia and I’ll never go to another dentist again UNLESS it’s DR CHAVEZ!!! He’s so caring, understanding, funny and did I mention HANDSOME ! Hehe. No but seriously this was the best dental office I’ve ever been too. The staff just make you feel so welcomed and really know how to make you feel apart of their family. I’ve been overdue for my dental checkup & Dr. Chavez was very accepting and nonjudgmental. He was informative and and gave me options to choose from, while teaching me the pros and cons of each procedures in detail. He was welcoming to questions, so don’t be afraid to ask. There was no pressure to do anything I didn’t want to. I had a crown installed due to a bad cavity and fillings redone. I didn’t feel a thing. Everything was very fast, wait time less than 5 minutes.
Chyna, the dental assistant, goes above and beyond to make the patient feel welcomed. She is very eager to learn with Dr. Chavez during procedures; it shows how much she is involved in her profession.
Irena the dental hygienist did an amazing deep clean of my teeth & offered education of further upkeep.
Overall, I felt this institution really wanted to better my dental health & is efficient. The staff is personable and accommodating. Will definitely recommend this place to anybody who needs any dental work done.

The Blue Line Dental office was beautiful, very clean, air quality within the office was excellent and as much as the photos of the office were great, the office looked fantastic in person.
The staff were both very friendly, and most importantly, pleasantly welcoming.
Clear communication from the dental assistants who took my X-rays, to the hygienist (which Nadia, the Hygienist was EXCELLENT) who administered my cleaning to Dr. Chavez’ examination. I appreciate the entire first experience and will absolutely be returning every six months for further cleaning and treatments as needed.

Very happy with Dr Chavez! Had emergency due to untreated infection. Made appointment on Zocdoc since I currently live out of the country and don’t have a primary dentist….I
was able to get into see him right away. My issue was major and I didn’t have any time since I was leaving the country the next day. Dr Chavez preformed the procedures (extraction and bone graft) effectively and efficiently and had me out the door. Was able to rush a flipper tooth for me the next day and took his time to make sure it fit correctly. A few days after and out of the country I panicked and thought I had an issue. The office took my call and Dr Chavez immediately called me back after I sent the office pictures. Staff awesome, clean office, overall great dental practice he has here! Would recommend!! Thanks!!

OMG !!!!! Rhe teeth cleaning was immaculate, I lovedddd the 3D camera that scanned my teeth for teeth grinding, it's clean, smooth music, the doctor is 20? amazing, knowledgeable, not dismissive. I can just go I'm and I'm about the office and all of the staff. I can't wait for my appointment tomorrow morning ?? He is very friendly, explains everything in detail, you can tell he cares about your comfort. The office is also very clean and renovated with new machines. I enjoyed the TV on the ceiling and headphones during procedure. The front desk staff are also very friendly.
Unfortunately, my husband and I will not be returning. They strongly recommended removal of all my wisdom teeth right before the year end when I was pretty sure my dental coverage limit had run out. I asked if it would be better to wait a few days until the the new coverage kicks in to ensure I don't have extra high out of pocket expense but the front desk guaranteed that the coverage would cover majority of the procedure. After triple checking with the front desk, I got all my wisdom teeth pulled out and ended up with an extremely high out of pocket expense that would have been covered if we had waited 3 more days. This did not feel like a patient-friendly practice and we will not be returning.

I have never been to a dentist in 27 years (don't judge me). Not knowing what to expect besides a cleaning, l got to my appointment super early and was warmly welcomed by the office manager, Mariam. She helped as I filled out my forms. I side-eye watched Dr. Chavez’s interaction with another younger patient and his mum. He was pleasant and welcoming. This should be good, l thought.
I was nervous when my X-rays got taken, but Christine made me feel comfortable, and we shared a few laughs. After a moment, I met Dr. Chavez, who explained my X-ray results and then cleaned my teeth. He made me feel comfortable and relaxed. I honestly enjoyed the procedure and felt like a brand new person when he was done.
This was an experience on its own and a memorable first one at that. I'm looking forward to my next appointment as I feel my clean teeth on my way home. Dr. Chavez is in a league of his own, and Blue Dental is the best place for all your dentistry issues. I highly recommend this place, and believe me, I'm selfish with reviews.
