The act of putting thoughts and emotions into words can have surprising and powerful results. There is freedom in saying out loud—in a unique and confidential environment—what is only said to oneself, often quietly and without self-awareness.
When we allow ourselves to say what we have withheld, we begin to see our world from new perspectives, develop new ways of being in the world, and begin to make new choices. Therapy can be painful, slow, and arduous; this is part of why we undertake this process with an experienced therapist, someone to be in our lives for exactly and only this purpose.
This is how I understand my work. I see patients from a variety of backgrounds and diverse struggles. As a licensed psychoanalyst and graduate of the Center for Modern Psychoanalytic Studies, I work with each patient based on their individual needs as the relationship develops. I have experience with the LGBTQ+ community, college students, artists, and a variety of professionals. Through my years of practice, I've worked with depression, anxiety, psychotic symptoms, stress and body dysmorphia, in addition to other issues.
