The Center for Asthma and Allergy has been serving the Chicagoland area for over 30 years, founded by Dr. Dolly Thomas. Dr. Alex Thomas (her son) joined the practice 7 years ago. Services provided include allergen desensitization, skin testing (food allergens, environmental allergens, drugs), patch testing (chemical/cosmetic allergy), biologic therapies (Anti-IgE, Anti-IL5, Anti-IL4/IL13), graded food and drug challenges, drug desensitization, Spirometry, medication management, asthma education, immune system evaluation and more. Dr. Alex Thomas was everything one could want in a doctor. He listened carefully to my symptoms and history then patiently explained a thorough treatment plan along with alternatives. I have had mixed experiences with video calls with doctors, but Dr. Thomas was an excellent listener and communicator.

I wasn’t sure how seeing an allergist on line was going to work. But Dr.Thomas was great. He listened to my concerns and asked great questions to get a thorough health history. I left the appointment with next steps and am confident he will help me find relief from my long term allergy symptoms. I would highly recommend!

The doctor no call no showed me. I called the office twice trying to get clear instructions before my appointment, and was sent to voicemail both times. I left a voicemail asking to have my call returned and it was not. I never received an email or anything regarding my Telehealth appointment other than a confirmation stating that I DID have an appointment.

They called me 2 days before my appointment to tell me my appointment was going to be virtual yet they didn't provide any further explanation as to where virtually I would get access to this. I called the office the day before to get further explanation and more information but no one called me back. I showed up to the office and no one was there just in case I misunderstood. Eventually I noticed the email with the Zoom link meeting sent that morning. Dr. Thomas was very nice but I was not happy with the visit. They said they would order some blood tests and instructed me to go to a center to have them draw my blood for allergy testing and they would provide me and send me links to the centers that were closest to me. Yet I have yet to receive any further links or instructions to where I'm supposed to go 3 hours later. So now I have to take another day off from work at some point to go to this blood center that I still don't know where it is.

Dr. Thomas was great and helped me figure out what I was specifically allergic to and what solutions we could do for medications. Him and the nurses took great care of me. I will definitely be back for anything allergy related in the future!

Dr. Alex Thomas is the best! He really takes the time to listen, figure out what is going on/address & explain the underlying issue(s), and make clear treatment recommendations. It’s easy to get ahold of him and/or schedule an appointment with him. He always thoroughly addresses my questions and concerns. And he is empathetic, personable, and compassionate. I highly recommend Dr. Thomas!

Dr. Thomas takes the time listen to my concerns and makes sure that I understand what the next steps are and the reasons behind them. His bedside manner is so positive, and I felt comfortable asking questions. The staff at the office are also very friendly and attentive. Checking in went very smoothly, because I was able to give them my information prior to coming in to the office. He also offers virtual visits which was very convenient for us when just needed a general follow up. I highly recommend Dr. Thomas.
