Christine Cheung Mental Health Counseling

I am ACCEPTING NEW PATIENTS and offer fully TELEHEALTH SESSIONS. You can email: christinecheungLMHC@gmail.com or text: (929) 266-5155 to schedule a session. I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) practicing in New York City who provides individual and couples psychotherapy to adults. I have worked with clients who identify as part of the BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities with various presenting issues including grief and loss, depression, anxiety, and life transitions such as leaving home, changing careers, new parenting, marriage, and retirement. I also have experience treating clients with issues relating to perfectionism, self-esteem, burnout, and addiction. Additionally, I specialize in treating complex trauma, relationship issues, shame, codependency, family conflict, and navigating immigrant and first-generation multicultural issues. I earned my Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling and Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology at Baruch College, City University of New York. In addition to my private practice, I have experience working in various community and clinical settings including inpatient and outpatient addiction facilities, an inpatient hospital psychiatric unit, and schools, including a day school for students with special needs and a college career counseling center. I was also selected to be a National Science Foundation research program Fellow, where I worked as a Research Assistant in Baruch College’s Social Psychology Lab. I utilize a multicultural and trauma-informed integrative approach, drawing from psychodynamic and cognitive-behavioral theories to form treatment plans individualized to each client’s needs. I strive to create a collaborative space that provides a unique opportunity to check in with yourself. Through open conversations, I invite you to embrace curiosity as center stage in your processes of exploration and growth. I look forward to speaking with you.
