Cole Sawires

Cole is passionate about creating a safe, affirming, and nonjudgmental space where clients can authentically explore their identities, relationships, and experiences. They specialize in supporting 2SLGBTQ+, genderqueer, nonbinary, and transgender individuals, as well as those in monogamous and polyamorous relationships. Cole guides clients through identity development, self-acceptance, family dynamics, and the impact of societal stressors, firmly believing that therapy should be a place where everyone feels seen, respected, and celebrated. Grounded in empathy, collaboration, and cultural humility, Cole's approach is deeply informed by their own diverse background. They recognize how culture, community, and lived experiences shape how people move through the world. Utilizing Relational-Cultural Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cole prioritizes understanding each client's unique perspective as the foundation of a strong therapeutic relationship. They believe that being truly seen, heard, and understood is a profoundly healing experience, especially for those who have lacked it in the past. Cole also helps clients build empowered, healthy relationships with their partners and their own sexuality. Whether clients are exploring sexual identity, healing from shame, strengthening communication, deepening intimacy, or defining what authentic sexuality means to them, Cole provides a respectful, sex-positive space. They view sexuality as a vital component of overall well-being, self-expression, and connection when approached through a lens of consent, empowerment, and self-compassion. As a dedicated mental health advocate, Cole supports clients through life transitions, anxiety, self-esteem concerns, and overwhelming new experiences. They became a therapist to provide the deep, compassionate care they once needed themselves. Cole believes that meaningful change begins by honoring each person's unique story, recognizing their inherent strengths, and moving toward the version of themselves they most want to become.
