Cristina Profumo

I am a board certified psychiatrist (fluent in English and Italian). I was trained at NYU and I provide treatment using psychopharmacology and psychotherapy. My approach offers a rich opportunity to create new ways of thinking, feeling, relating to others as well as living life fully. I use a variety of treatment modalities combining medications, mindfulness, cognitive behavioral and psychodynamic treatment. I have experience working with people who have mood symptoms, anxiety disorders, substance and alcohol abuse, and attention deficit disorder. I am an out of network provider and as such I don’t accept insurance. Typically the first appointment lasts 90 minutes, after which we willl make a plan of action together to help you heal. Once you schedule an appointment I will call within 24 hours to answer your questions. Due to the coronavirus all appointments will be done with Skype, Facetime, Whatsapp, or Doxy.Thank you for giving me the opportunity to help.

Dr. P helped me recover from a very severe depression. She was very available in between the appoinments when I was struggling with inability to function. She figured out the best medication for me and gave me important tools to use when at my worst time in my life.
