Culture of Safety Wellness Center
I practice Zen Shiatsu Bodywork, a traditional Japanese form of massage therapy and bodywork, which is particularly beneficial for nervous system support and regulation and chronic conditions, such as chronic stress and tension, digestive issues, insomnia, fatigue, burnout, and more.
I also practice traditional cupping and guasha. Cupping is used a lot by massage therapists today to increase circulation and help move stuck layers of tissue. My training in Traditional East Asian Medicine allows me to move beyond the scope of western approaches to cupping, allowing it to be used to benefit digestion, sleep, nervous system sypport, as well as chronic or acute pain. Guasha is a traditional Chinese and Japanese massage technique (trademarked in the West as 'Graston technique') which is great for increasing local circulation, breaking up scar tissue, and adhesions which commonly lead to muscular tension. Additionally, through the lens of East Asian Medicine, guasha can be used to support a variety of conditions.
I work with each client to help them identify their goals and assess what modalities will best support their short-term and long-term health goals.
Shiatsu treatment with Kyren can be a life-long journey. Initially we may start with a 6-week course of weekly treatment. Often, after the first 6 weeks, monthly 'tune-up' sessions become the norm. Even clients who only book monthly see tremendous progress in their overall health, including reduction in symptoms, improved sleep and digestion, improved nervous system regulation, increased capacity to be present in the body, and increased resilience with the ups and downs of life.
