He is a thoughtful communicator. He really took the time to ask questions about different parts of my life and ended up guiding me in a direction I actually needed. As a prescriber, he’s careful and intentional, he focuses on the most immediate and meaningful areas first instead of rushing to stack medications. I get the sense that he sees his relationship with patients as something to cultivate, not something to rush through. It felt like he was invested in understanding me, not just getting me in and out.

Dr. Simonson was great to work with! It was my first time ever seeing a psychiatrist so I was a little nervous but he put me at ease by taking time to listen and understand my history, concern around side effects and my lifestyle. He was collaborative and evidence based, taking into account my existing doctors suggestions and made sure I was happy with our path forward. He didn’t just want to put me on meds, which I really appreciated. Looking forward to working with him going forward. Would highly recommend him!

Dr. Kevin was incredible. I did not have a great experience with my previous doctor and Dr. Kev was the polar opposite. Great listener. Great communicator. And clearly very empathetic to my situation. His advice and guidance were clear as well. Strongly recommend.

Dr. Simonson referred me to esketamine clinics, and with the help of Ledy, his assistant, had my medical records faxed over to one of these clinics. Unfortunately, instead of specifically naming all of the medications I'd been prescribed, he just mentioned a few by name and said "and many more". This isn't sufficient for insurance purposes. When I reached back to his office to have it refaxed with all of my meds specifically named, Michelle Steinkamp, the Psychiatric Administrative Assistant, made one nonsensical claim after another.
She, first, said that I would have to make another appointment with Dr. Simonson to facilitate the resending of another fax. Then, she immediately claimed that Dr. Simonson wouldn't be able to provide my records because he didn't prescribe me those medications
Aside from being completely fine with stifling someone in need, she lacks the temperament and intelligence to work in the mental health field.

One of the first things he did was thank me for filling out the intake info so thoroughly, which immediately lifted my spirits because those forms do take some time to fill out. He was professional and explained everything clearly, but was also kind and kept the conversation flowing naturally. I'm very much looking forward to my next appointment.

I visited Dr. Simonson when I was 11 days postpartum. I’m a high insight patient, with years of med management under my belt. When I went into my long awaited appointment, I was seeking a safe medication for nursing - of which there are many . I learned about a few of them in my intro to psychopharmacology class as a LOWLY MASTERS STUDENT. Instead, Dr Simonson treated me like some kind of fringe freak for seeking medication while nursing. He spent twenty minutes incoherently spouting on TMS, pushing it like a snake oil salesman. Dr - postpartum mental health isn’t a niche that doesn’t belong in general psychiatry - over half the population is female and postpartum mental health is a public health crisis.
I hope you don't in future treat other birthing humans thus - 11 days postpartum, bleeding, and dismissing me with a referral to another provider not in network who charges 2K per session. I have iatrogenic effects from this visit. Major toxic male energy.

I was in a pretty dark place, dealing with a deep depression that just wouldn’t lift, no matter what I tried. A friend recommended CURA, and honestly, it’s one of the best decisions I’ve made.

What really surprised me was learning about TMS. I had no idea that was even an option!
