This was an atypical 1st visit. They took X-rays but had difficulty and re-did several times. The machine also brushed my face a couple times which made me nervous since they’re swinging the arm around to get the right angles.
They didn’t do a basic cleaning, saying that they don’t usually do them since they don’t know what they’ll find (never heard that before) and they were running behind (this seems like the real reason). Very strange. They said they don’t call to notify patients beforehand that this is their policy.
They wouldn’t clean my night guard for liability issues which I guess I understand.
The dentist’s bedside was below average; he wasn’t very friendly or communicative. He said I had a very small cavity but since it was just 1 he wanted to have me watch it instead of fill it. Not sure if that’s typical, or if he just didn’t want to do it since they were behind schedule. Maybe he was having an off day.
Fortunately, they didn’t send a claim, so I can find a new dentist.

Everyone was nice and friendly! The x-ray tech was kind and we had pleasant small talk after I told him I was nervous since it had been my first time going to a dentist in years. The hygienist there was absolutely lovely as well! Was super thorough with her explanations! So happy to have found this practice!

Dr. Chan is very kind & was thorough in his exam and gentle with my teeth. Always taking a pause to ask if I was doing alright. I’ve had a few bad experiences at previous dentists, so I really appreciated this. For once I didn’t hate my dentist experience!
