Daybreak Counseling Center
Daybreak Counseling Center provides compassionate, personalized mental health care for children, teens, adults, couples, and families. With convenient locations in Long Beach and Cerritos, as well as secure telehealth appointments throughout California, our goal is to make high-quality mental health care easier to access and easier to fit into your life.
We understand that reaching out for support can feel overwhelming, especially when you are already struggling with anxiety, depression, stress, relationship difficulties, ADHD, trauma, burnout, or other emotional challenges. Our team works to create a welcoming environment where you can feel heard, understood, and supported without judgment.
Daybreak offers both psychotherapy and psychiatric services, allowing patients to access different forms of mental health care within one practice. Our services include individual therapy, couples therapy, family therapy, child and adolescent therapy, psychiatric evaluations, ADHD assessments, and psychiatric medication management.
Our therapists work with a wide range of concerns, including anxiety, depression, trauma and PTSD, relationship difficulties, grief and loss, life transitions, self-esteem, stress, burnout, family conflict, behavioral concerns, and difficulties with emotional regulation. We also work with people who may not have a specific diagnosis but recognize that something in their life is not working the way they would like it to.
Therapy at Daybreak is not simply about reducing symptoms. We believe meaningful therapy can also help you better understand yourself, recognize patterns that may be keeping you stuck, strengthen your relationships, and develop healthier ways of responding to difficult thoughts and emotions. Our clinicians draw from a variety of evidence-based and insight-oriented approaches so that treatment can be tailored to the individual rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach.
For patients who may benefit from medication, Daybreak also provides psychiatric evaluations and medication management with a psychiatric nurse practitioner. Psychiatric care can help determine whether medication may be appropriate as part of your treatment and provide ongoing monitoring and medication management based on your individual needs, symptoms, response to treatment, and goals.
We believe psychiatric care should feel collaborative. Patients should have an opportunity to discuss their symptoms, concerns, treatment options, potential benefits and side effects, and questions about medication. When appropriate, psychiatric treatment can also complement psychotherapy, providing a more comprehensive approach to mental health care.
We work with children, adolescents, college students, working professionals, parents, couples, and adults across different stages of life. Some people come to Daybreak during a specific crisis or difficult transition. Others have struggled with the same patterns for years and are finally ready to understand them more deeply. Still others are functioning well in many areas of their lives but recognize that anxiety, stress, relationships, or emotional exhaustion are preventing them from feeling like themselves.
Our clinicians recognize that finding the right mental health provider is personal. A strong therapeutic relationship matters, which is why having a diverse team of clinicians with different backgrounds, specialties, personalities, and therapeutic approaches allows us to help patients find a provider who is a good fit for their needs.
Daybreak Counseling Center offers in-person mental health services at our Long Beach and Cerritos offices. We also provide telehealth services throughout California, allowing patients to receive care from the privacy and convenience of home when clinically appropriate.
We know that work, school, parenting, and other responsibilities can make scheduling mental health appointments difficult. Daybreak offers daytime and evening appointment options to help make treatment more accessible for busy individuals and families.
We accept several major insurance plans, including Aetna, Cigna, Health Net, Health Net Medi-Cal, and UnitedHealthcare/Optum. Coverage and eligibility may vary depending on your specific insurance plan and the provider or service you are seeking. Our team can help you understand available options before beginning treatment.
Whether you are looking for a therapist for yourself, support for your child or teenager, couples counseling, an ADHD assessment, a psychiatric evaluation, or ongoing medication management, our goal is to help you connect with care that feels thoughtful, compassionate, and appropriate for your needs.
You do not need to have everything figured out before reaching out. Sometimes the first step is simply recognizing that you would like things to be different.
At Daybreak Counseling Center, we want mental health care to be a place where you can slow down, understand what you are experiencing, and begin making meaningful changes. Our providers are committed to helping patients develop greater insight, emotional resilience, healthier relationships, and a stronger sense of balance in their lives.
