We inherited Dr. McLain as our dentist after our original dentist, Dr. Collins, retired. And in doing so we feel like we struck gold as not only is Dr. McLain professionally up to date on all the latest equipment and tools used in the modern world of HiTech dentistry but he's forthright and cordial in explaining the types of work he feels needs to be attended to, what kind of options might be available and the cost of performing said options. His dental tech asst, Sarah, is a most competent, caring, friendly woman and so are the other female staff who work in his office. We love them all.

I have had excellent experiences with Downing Street Dental. The team, in its entirety, is kind, helpful, knowledgeable and timely. I appreciate that Dr. McLain walks me through procedures and prepares me for what to expect. In my last stop in, they had told me to call if I had any discomfort. I had a minor issue caused by something I had done, and not only did Dr. McLain fix the problem, they made sure I was seen the day I called. I highly recommend Downing Street Dental.

Dr. McLain showed great care and gave attention to a previously-treated tooth that showed as subpar on x-ray. However, his assistant on that particular day was somewhat sloppy in her technique and not as attentive as I would have wished.
All in all, the one hour I spent there seemed successful.

This is the first Dentist and Hygienist that I truly look forward to each and every visit! Every staff member, takes pride in their craft, it is very evident they all strive for excellence. Latest technologies and practices....I am SO impressed. Yes, I highly recommend, in fact instead of every 6 months, I am going back every 4 months.
Plus, they believe in also supporting local businesses.....in todays economy we must do business only, with others who do business with us. LOVE Downing Dental!!!

This visit was two parts. One to investigate, then prep a replacement crown and the second to install the permanent crown. My 2nd crown replaced by Dr. McLain. Both visits were great. They were flexible to work with my schedule. All the staff were very nice, honest, attentive, and showed they cared about my overall health and pocketbook. I have had a few crowns before by other dentist and never realized how important the prep, fitting, and who they use to make the crown can be until going to Dr. McLain. My new crown fits so well and without much adjustment after. My other Dentis just told me the slight misfit is normal. I also love how Dr. McLain talked me through ever step, gave me options along with the cost and long term pros and cons. I never felt pressured for a sale as I have at other dentist. I highly recommend his practice and will be back.

Just had one of the best dental experiences of my life. I know that sounds odd. But from the moment I drove to the office. Which more of a neighborhood feel than a doctor's office. The receptionist was nice and helpful. The tech, Sarah was friendly, knowledgeable, and explained everything as she went along. But the best was Dr. James McLain. He took the time to show me my xrays, pictures, and explain what's going on and my options. He is the most preventative dentist I have encountered in my life. But the details, like the sunglasses so my eyes are destroyed by the bright light, wiggling my toes when I get the shot, and all the other little things that made my experiences more comfortable. I didn't feel a thing although he checked with me many times to make sure. His whole staff explained ever step along the way and even anticipated many questions or parts that could be sensitive. I highly recommend him for any friends in the Denver area.

I liked the way Dr. McClain explained everything he was doing which kept me informed and calm. He is cautious and does what he thinks is best for the patient. I like his manner. He is a people person. He understands that people can be apprehensive when they come to the dentist. He encourages the patient to ask questions. He takes time to make sure the patient is doing okay.
